This sculptural intervention aims to awaken curiosity
and develop the visitor’s empathy with the European
Green Toad, a rare and red-listed species found in Nordhavn, Denmark.
The toad is the source of inspiration and the heart of
the project, representing worlds within other worlds
that share this thin living layer. It is important to
broaden our gaze and realise that all living beings have
the right to exist and live in dignity.
The deconstructed toad becomes a nod to the philosophy
of respect for life, while highlighting the importance
of preserving biodiversity and local natural habitats.
A TOAD is not
just A TOAD
nature doesn’t need
to be controlled or
exotic to be
appreciated
LIFE is valuable
in ITSELF
